Lu Jianzhong

Chairman of the Silk Road Chamber of International Commerce
Vice Chairman of the China Chamber of International Commerce Chairman and Founder of Da Tang Xi Shi International Group Ltd

Mr. Lu is the Chairman of the DTXS Group and had invested 10 million RMB over the past decade for the safeguarding of the cultural heritage of the ancient Silk Road of the Tang dynasty. His efforts can be seen in the establishment of the Tang West Market Museum – China’s first private-owned cultural museum dedicated for the protection and preservation of the Tang West Market heritage sites. He also initiated other cultural projects, including the Silk Road Culture Street, Tang West Market Hotel, the International Art & Antique Trade Centre, West Market Shopping Mall and Intangible Cultural Heritage Town.

Mr. Lu has been appointed to senior positions in numerous business and cultural organizations in China and received many awards and honors. Listed below are the honorary awards and titles he has received.

Wang Shaobin

Presiding Chief Executive Officer and Secretary of the Party

Mr Wang Shaobin is the former Chief Executive Officer and the Secretary of the Party Branch of the Tang West Market Group. He is the recipient of numerous awards as a result of his prolific personal and professional activities. Mr Li has engaged in the management of large domestic enterprises for more than twenty years, covering sectors as varied as electronics, medicine, finance, culture and real estate. He is experienced in particular in cultural industry projects.

 

 

Li Zhonghang

Chief Executive Officer

Mr Li has been the CEO of Tang West Market Group since the establishment of the West Market project and has been a leading figure in developing the cultural industry sector of Shaanxi province.  He is also Vice President of the Shaanxi Chamber of International Commerce and Board President of the Tang West Market Cultural Tourism Group.

As the CEO of the Tang West Market Group, Mr Li has devoted his efforts to the rejuvenation Xi’an’s ancient West Market and the Silk Road culture endowed to it. He has been responsible for organising high-level national and international cultural events including the West Market Spring Festival Temple Fair, the Western China Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition and Performances and the Silk Road Trade Tourism and Culture Expo.

Mr Li has led the development of the Tang West Market Group’s Silk Road collaborations with UNESCO, the China Chamber of International Commerce, the International Chamber of Commerce, the UN World Tourism Organization and other international organisations. He is the recipient of several important business and cultural awards including: Shaanxi Top Ten Businessmen; Shaanxi Top Ten Figures of Real Estate Industry and Outstanding Figure of the Shaanxi Tourism and Cultural Industry.

Wang Yong

Vice-President

Mr Wang Yong is a member of the Board of Directors and vice-president of the Tang West Market Group. In addition he holds the positions of vice-chairman of the National Private Museums Cooperative and the Chinese Culture Promotion Society and vice-chairman of the Tang West Market Museum Council.

 

 

 

 

Yao Zenghai

Vice-President

Mr Yao Zenghai is vice-president of the Tang West Market Group. A trained economist, Mr Yao is the former vice-president of Shaanxi Jiaxin Group.

 

 

 

 

 

Wang Bin

Vice-President

Ms Wang Bin is vice-president of the Tang West Market Group. Formerly director of the Promotion and Education Department and deputy curator of the Shaanxi History Museum. She joined the Tang West Market Group in 2009 as president of the Xi’an Tang West Market Museum, rising to the position of vice-president of the Tang West Market Group, vice-chairman of Tang West Market Museum Council and Curator of Tang West Market Museum.

In addition to her responsibilities with the Tang West Market Group, Ms Wang is the vice-chairman of the Marketing and Public Relations Committee of the China Association of Museums, a member of the Standing Committee of the China Private Museum Association Silk Road Professional Committee, deputy secretary of Shaanxi Museum Association, and vice-chairman of Shaanxi Private Museum Association.

Jean-Guy Carrier

Senior International Advisor to the Tang West Market Group

Mr Jean-Guy Carrier is the Senior International Advisor to the leadership of the Tang West Market Group and President of Carrier-Walker International, an international consulting firm. His work in China includes a position as senior fellow of the Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies at Beijing’s Renmin University.

Mr. Carrier was Secretary General of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) from 2010 – 2014. His leadership oversaw the enhancement of ICC’s role as the voice of international business and its effective participation in the G20 governments’ policy process, including ICC contributions to policy proposals at all G20 Summits since 2010. He also led the ICC’s World Trade Agenda initiative to revive negotiations at the WTO on the Doha Round.

Mr Carrier has occupied senior leadership positions with international organizations, most notably with the World Trade Organization (WTO), from 1996 to 2008. One of his key initiatives was the strengthening of the participation of 100 developing countries in the work of the WTO and the world trading system.

Mr Carrier has authored six books, ranging from literature to studies of public policy. He has edited several collections of works on international trade and contributed many articles for print and electronic media. His career includes work with the International Institute for Systems Analysis in Vienna, Austria, the Economic Council of Canada, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and as a partner in communications consulting firms.

Mr Carrier is a Canadian citizen and currently lives and works in Switzerland.

Zhang Jinqiu

Cultural Advisor

Ms Zhang Jinqiu is a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and a member of an elite group of nationally registered architects. A graduate of the department of Architectural History and Theory at Tsinghua University, Ms Zhang has worked as an architect for over 40 years.

In 1987 Ms Zhang was appointed chief architect of the architectural design bureau of the Chinese North West, garnering accolades for her fusion of traditional of innovative strains of architecture. In 2009 Ms Zhang took on the position of chief architect with China’s Capital Construction design group. Ms Zhang was executive deputy director of China’s town planning institute from 1999 to 2004, and Deputy Director of the Architectural Society of China from 2001 to 2005. Ms Zhang is the recipient of numerous awards.

Xiong Chengyu

Cultural Advisor

Professor Xiong Chengyu received his PhD from Bringham Young University in 1990, subsequently joining the faculty of Tsinghua and taking on the positions of head of the communications department and associate dean of research. As the director of the National Research Center for Cultural Industries and the director of New Media Studies, Professor Xiong has had nation wide influence in the field of communications. Professor Xiong has published widely in the area of new media studies and public policy for the information and cultural industries.

Professor Xiong is the first professor of cultural studies invited to lecture the politburo of the CCP’s central committee. Professor Xiong is vice chairman of the Communication Association of China and a council member of the China International Culture Exchange Center.

Xiao Yunru

Cultural Advisor

Mr Xiao Yunru graduated from the Department of Journalism at Renmin University of China and went on to serve as the Director of the Department Arts at the Shaanxi Daily and Vice Chairman of the Shaanxi Federation of Literary and Art Circles.
Mr Xiao is a widely respected cultural scholar and calligrapher. Mr Xiao is a former committee member of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, a member of the Literary and Art Review Centre of the Propaganda Department of the Central Committee of the CPC, vice chairman of the Shaanxi Federation of Literary and Art Circles, chairman of the Shaanxi Art Critics Association and chairman of the Shaanxi Planning Association. He is a distinguished professor at Xi’an Jiaotong University, Shaanxi Normal University and Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology.
Mr Xiao is the author of 19 books of which two were published in 2015, namely a book of literary theories, “Stay Foolish”, and a book of cultural essays, “Wandering Alone”. Mr Xiao is the recipient of numerous awards.
